The HOPE-e study is being led and managed by the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) in collaboration with the University of Oxford and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is funding this study, via their ‘Research for Patient Benefit’ programme. The study also benefits from resources including staff time provided by the Centre for OA Pathogenesis Versus Arthritis, which is based in Oxford.

29 August 2020: Charing Cross Hospital, London re-opens recrutiment following the Coronavirus pandemic.
04 August 2020: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, re-opens recrutiment following the Coronavirus pandemic.
16 March 2020: HOPE-e recrutiment closes due to Coronavirus pandemic.
13 June 2019: White Horse Medical Practice (Faringdon) open to recruitment.
24 May 2019: Our second site, Charing Cross Hospital, opens to recruitment.
09 May 2019: HOPE-e opens to recruitment! The first site to open is the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford.
